Rolex Daytona watch gets a Wimbledon makeover

If Andy Murray bags himself a Wimbledon title, he'll take own both the silverware and a whopping £850,000 in prize money. Which means he'll have more than enough to treat himself to this Wimbledon-themed Rolex Daytona watch.

Anything 'Rolex' is guaranteed to cause a pain in the wallet and the Wimbledon Rolex Daytona is certainly no exception, setting wannabe Wimbledon champions back a jaw-dropping £16,000 for that distinctive green and blue colour scheme and of course, all that Rolex style and know-how.

With the Daytona, that means a chronograph with screw-down push buttons, a sweeping second hand, minute and hour totalisers, a self-wind mechanism, waterproofing down to 100m (which should come in handy when the Wimbledon skies open) and that graduated tachometer bezel with engraved digits, not forgetting that all-important Rolex name and logo, certain to get you knowing looks in all the finest places.

Fancy one? Well, that £16k price tag isn't the only thing holding you back, there are only five of them available to buy, courtesy of Bamford and Sons. Which could make the Wimbledon-themed Rolex Daytona something of a future collector's piece.

Choose A Word-Class Designer Backpack For Yourselves

Form the professional point of view, if your travel lines are cities, you’d better choose bags of good looking and light weight in chanel handbags. Sports brands like Nike and Adidas only cost a few hundred dollars. Certainly, if you choose outdoor sports travel lines, a professional outdoor sports backpack is more suitable. Outdoor sports have higher standards about equipments, which can’t be satisfied by general ones. Regardless of non-professional or professional backpack, there are several key points should be paid attention to which are as follow:

1. Water-proof material. It is inevitable to come across bad weather once or twice when you are out travelling, thus, it is important to choose a water-proof bag. Generally both professional outdoor sports brands and non-pro brands provide water-proof bags, and you’d better check with the sales person before buying.

2. Solid seam. It is known to all that the shoulder bands of backpacks are easily broken, as backpacks have great capacity and we tend to fill them up, thus, when choosing a backpack, check if the seam is solid or not, otherwise fracture of the strap is likely to occur during tour.

3. The bag should fit your shape. As the shoulder has to bear the weight of the backpack for long time, thus the design of backpacks better is in accordance with human physics, so that you can feel comfortable when carrying it. A backpack without such design may lead to the weight be unevenly born by the shoulder which will do harm to your shoulder muscle after long time’s carrying.

4. Different colors according to different travel sites. When choosing a travel bag, color is also very important. If your destination is animal-infested jungle, deep color bags are preferred as it helps you to hide. Bright colors are suitable when you are travelling in cities or suburbs, as bright colors can bring you good mood and also serve as signal for help in case of trouble.

5. Light weight. It is no doubt that a heavyweight backpack is inconvenient for your trip as you are clear that you will bring a lot of things with you when travelling.

6. Suitable size. No matter how many things you have to bring with you for a trip, remember that the size of your bag should be in accordance with your shape. The size of backpack for girls better not exceed 60 liters. Beauty lies in the coordination of your figure and right size of bags, otherwise, you will appear like you are carrying a mountain on your back.

Desperately Seeking New And Pre-Loved Handbags

Desperately Seeking New And Pre-Loved Handbags To Help Auckland Charity

Thinking of throwing out last season’s handbag in favour of the latest winter fashions? Why not recycle for a great cause.

LynnMall Shopping Centre and Botany Town Centre are calling on Auckland women to dig deep into their wardrobes and donate desperately needed handbags to help boost Auckland charity Dress for Success’ diminishing stocks.

The charity currently has just 30 remaining handbags – a fraction of what is needed to cater for the 125 women Dress for Success dresses each month. They need women around the city to donate new or pre-loved but well-presented handbags that would add the finishing touch to an interview outfit.

Dress for Success helps women in need to get jobs and keep working by providing clothes, shoes, bags, accessories and advice to boost their self-esteem and independence. It relies on donations of these items in order to provide its services.

Each year around 1,500 women are helped through the Dress for Success programme; each receives a full interview outfit, including the vital handbag. Once they get the job they are able to get a second outfit – both outfits are free and to keep.

Volunteer and programme coordinator for Dress for Success in Auckland Claire Donaldson says with stocks at a record low, any donations will be welcome.

“Handbags are an absolute must to top off an outfit and help give women confidence during a job interview,” she says. “They often hold a pretty special place in a woman’s heart and are difficult items to part with. For women out there having a winter wardrobe cleanup – we can promise to give their handbags a new life and a very good home.”

The charity says basic colours are easiest to match to outfits - black, brown, navy and beige – however, all shapes and colours are welcome.

Bags can be delivered to Dress for Success collection points at LynnMall Shopping Centre, in west Auckland, and Botany Town Centre, in east Auckland, says Botany Centre Manager Jennifer Manning.

“We had an extremely generous public response to our Dress for Success bag and shoe drive late last year, and would love to see a flood of juicy handbags descending on our collection points this time. It’s an incredibly worthy cause, and donors can be assured that their gifts will be treasured by their new owners.”
